Another new grandson!

Brady Lewis Wilde was born on February 5, 2007 to Broc and Joanna. Everything went great and even Papa got to be there for this one. Joanna convinced her doctor to induce her when he was going to be in town, the fact that she was way sick of being pregnant, and totally ready. We all think he looks a lot like his daddy.

The Cast comes off!

Jonas was way excited to have his cast off, but real bummed when the doctor said he couldn't snowboard for another month. His arm was healed only 80% so he needed to behave or the doctor would put another cast on. Needless to say, he agreed.

Snowblowing

We did invest in a snowblower after moving into the house in Farmington. The boys couldn't wait to use it, although it was a mild winter and they didn't have to much of an opportunity to use it, they did manage a time or two. I figured I would take a picture so you could all see.

Jonas' Broken Arm

Jonas broke his arm while snowboarding. The orthopedist said it was his seventh forearm that week. It was a compression fracture and looked like a aluminium can when it has been stepped on from the top down.

After we got back from Redding, we got a wonderful snow storm that blanketed the valley. We were glad it hadn't come a few days earlier as we were driving back. A note on that was that Jaren drove for a couple of hours and learned to use the cruise control on the car.

New Grandson

Oops!

Two days after Christmas Jocelyn called and said that she was close and the doctor was ready to induce her. So the boys and I got in the car and headed for Redding, as it was the hospital was full and they had to wait a day and we were there with no problem. Jared Michael Kraling was born on December 29, 2006, in time to be a tax write off for his parents and much to everyones delight. He is a real cutie and looks like his brother, who loves to give him kisses and hugs.

The snowman Joanna and Broc gave me for Christmas. I also got a new one from Jenna and Casey that is adorable too!

Well, I was pretty busy with fixing food and didn't get to many pictures. Jenna managed to get a few more, so check out her blog if you can. Jenna, Casey, Sheree, and Charity came up for Christmas and it was so nice to have them. I finished putting up the last of the decorations two days before Christmas, so it was a little sparse in some ways. We actually moved into the house one week before Christmas and the whole week is some what of a blur. I loved being able to go to church on Christmas Eve and it was really great to have my parents, grandmother, and my sister and her family over for dinner that night. Christmas morning was the latest we have ever slept and it was restful. I will try to get more pictures next year, but Jenna actually took this one of Christmas dinner. All the food turned out fine and Charity really liked the potatoes, so next time she comes I will definitely have them just for her.

My Dad asked what he could do to help on the house and I figured he had done some rock work and that would be a great help. Well last I knew he still loves me and his labor of love was greatly appreciated. It definitely was a bigger project than either of us thought and he did a wonderful job! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cabela's trip

While Kraling's were here we took a day trip to Cabela's (it may rival Temple Square soon for the main tourist attraction in Utah). Here are a few pictures, Jon really enjoyed all the animals and we all enjoyed the fudge.

Thanksgiving

Jocelyn, Jason and Jon came for Thanksgiving and we had a great visit. Jason did help the one day trying to get ready for final, THANKS so much. We had a quiet dinner and of course an Xbox session. We all agreed, three football games in one day was a bit much though. The highlight for Mama and Papa was of course getting to see Jon and we did manage to get a picture of him with olive fingers.

Joanna's visit

Joanna came for a visit and we spent one whole day at the family history center and were able to find an entire family on a census. I also took her to a craft store in Kaysville and she loved it, especially the die cut section. She did manage to get all her Christmas cards done and we had a lot of fun shopping for flannel and baby fabric.

Broken Arm

Well, Cole came for another visit and well it was so busy I forgot to take pictures. Of course, snowboarding was the main event of his visit. Realizing I hadn't taken any pictures, I told them I would take them after the second day of snowboarding. Then I got a call to pick them up at ski patrol and take Jonas to the hospital because they were pretty sure he had a broken arm. Which is what the picture ended up being, Jonas with his cast. Thanks Cole for coming and for all your help and patience with the move.

Jon with Pop Its

We were glad for the opportunity to have Jocelyn and Jon come for Jenna's graduation.
Jon loves to throw balls, so Jaren and Jonas figured he was a natural to throw pop its. He loved them!

EFY

Jaren and Jonas both went to EFY in Logan at Utah State. They had a wonderful time and made lots of new friends. The weather cooperated and was cool because the dorms there do not have A/C. Again working on scanning pictures.

King's Peak

Jonas went to King's Peak in July which is the highest peak in Utah. He had a great time, but didn't care for the backpacking dehydrated food. The mosquitoes loved him though. I am trying to scan and copy pictures, so I may have to add them later. It is not going so good!

Cole comes for a visit

We all had a great time and were so glad he could come for a visit.
This was after the rides and they ended up not using the rest of the tickets.
They also went to a carnival in Kaysville, that was for July 24th celebrations.

Cole Tyler came for a visit in July. Water was the theme for the week. They went to the local waterpark, and boating.

Ward Youth Conference

Jonas and Jaren attended a youth conference for our ward in June. I sent a camera with them, but they were having so much fun they forgot to take any pictures. Jonas was asked to give a talk in sacrament the following Sunday and so I have attached that.

My name is Jonas Pitt and I have been asked to talk about the youth conference that I attended this past week and some of the principles that I learned there. It is the best conference that I have ever attended, but I did just turn 14, and it is the only one that I have attended.
Some of the principles that I learned are faith and obedience. When we went to Minnetonka Cave we walked down stone steps and along paths, seeing lots of rock formations with funny names like Popcorn, Bacon, and Steak. At the end of the trail there was a cavern and here, when it was time to go back, they turned out the lights. It was so dark you couldn’t see your hand in front of you. We were told to hold onto the iron rod, which is the word of God and it will guide us home to our Heavenly Father. This was a great activity to help me visualize the need for faith and that I need to obey the prophet and his words to help me in this “dark” world.
Another good activity to help us understand gospel principles was a short hike at night where we were told to follow the light. As a team we walked from one light to another and at each one we were given “oil” for our lamps, just pretend actually. At the last stop we were given a quote from Pres. Spencer W. Kimball and I would like to share it with you. Pres. Spencer W. Kimball, a prophet of god, has wisely told us, “the kind of oil that is needed to illuminate the way, and light the darkness, is not shareable…Each must obtain that kind of oil of preparedness is accumulated drop by drop in righteous living. Attendance at sacrament meetings adds oil to our lamps, drop by drop over the years. Fasting, Family prayer, home teaching, control of bodily appetites, preaching the gospel, studying the – each act of dedication and obedience is a drop added to our store. Deeds of kindness, payments of offerings and tithes, chaste thoughts and actions, marriage are a covenant of eternity – these, too, contribute importantly to the oil with which we can at midnight refuel our exhausted lamps. Midnight is too late for those who have procrastination”. Once our lamps were filled and we were prepared, it was time to light our lamps. It was a fun activity, but it also showed me how I need to keep my lamp filled to help me in my life.
There were so many great and fun activities that it would be hard to tell you all about them. I did also learn that you need to pay attention to instructions and follow them to get to your destination. Having teams helped us all to learn to work together and help each other. This was an awesome experience and really helped me to get to know other youth in the ward.
I would like to thank all the youth leaders, the wonderful cooks, and especially Brother and Sister Smith for all the time and effort that they put into this youth conference. It has helped me in reaching my final destination, that of living my life in order to return to my Heavenly Father. They were great, it was great and I learned that I want to be GREAT too!
